Deadlocked, Air France pilots union (SNPL) announced the end to a 14-day strike that included cancellations of Air France flights to the Dominican Republic and cost the airline an estimated US$25 million a day. The pilots were protesting company support for Transavia, a low-cost carrier that is operating via regional hubs around Europe. The airline competes with low-cost carriers such as EasyJet and Ryanair. Air France reported that flights would gradually return to normal from Tuesday, 30 September 2014.
