Now easier to reach Bahia de las Aguilas

The government has leveled the access road to Bahia de las Aguilas, making it much more accessible overland. Previously, the road was so steep that few people attempted the stretch and most visited by sea. The sea outing, because of its great panoramic views of the coastline, continues to be recommended.

Bahia de las Aguilas, a beach that still maintains its look prior to the arrival of the European settlers and tourism, is one of the main attractions in the southwest. Take note this is a beach without coconut trees, which are not native species. The high temperatures of 40+ on the beach contrast with the refreshing crystal clear waters.

Tourists traveling to Bahia de las Aguilas need to bring all they plan to consume there and take back their garbage, too. There are no shade-giving trees, and no hotels or restaurants are permitted on the beach, which is part of the Jaragua National Park, a protected area.
