Slight increase in electrical service

EGE-Haina began sending 159,000 barrels of fuel to its generating plants and increased it output by 257 MW over the weekend. EGE-Haina facilities in Barahona, San Pedro de Macoris and Haina all received fuel supplies. Huge tanker trucks were used to dispatch the fuel oil to the various units in order to save time. So many trucks were being used to transport the new inventory that EGE-Haina sent out a press release asking the people of Haina for their patience as the heavy vehicles run through the middle of their town. While Ege-Haina has a capacity above 600MW, the US$32.5-million payment on account will not yet permit full production. A substantial reduction in blackouts is expected to be felt over the early part of the week, however, according to the Listin Diario.
