Sammy Sosa to be inducted to Latino Hall of Fame

Sammy Sosa will be inducted together with several other Latin American baseball legends during the 2-5 December 2015 ceremonies at the La Romana-based Latino Baseball Hall of Fame. The announcement was made on MLB Network on Friday, 21 August 2015.

Sosa ended his career with 609 homeruns, and was the 1998 NL MVP with the Cubs and had four consecutive seasons of 50 homeruns or more.

The other players chosen for this year were Orlando Hernandez, Jesse Orosco, Edgar Renteria, Ivan Rodriguez, and Omar Vizquel and Hiram Bithorn.

The Latino Baseball Hall of Fame honors Latin American players and their contributions to baseball. Previous inductees include Pedro Martinez, Roberto Alomar, Luis Aparicio, Luis Arroyo, Rod Carew, Orlando Cepeda, Roberto Clemente, Juan Marichal, Tony Oliva, Tony Perez and Luis Tiant.
