A man who has had an eight-day erection has caught the attention of the Dominican media. The 25-year-old labourer, Ignacio Cabrera, suffers from priapism, the occurrence of a prolonged and painful erection that can last from several hours to a few days. Urologists in charge of his case say that surgery may be required. A sign at his hospital ward prohibits visits and any further questioning of the patient.
