Where did the cocaine go?

Attorney General Francisco Dominguez Brito has confirmed that he is waiting for the results from the commission set up to investigate a series of incidents in which drugs that had been confiscated from suspected traffickers disappeared from the Police Anti-narcotics Department (Dican).

He said that the main priority now was to take whatever measures were necessary and finish as quickly as possible so that the actual prosecution can begin.

When asked if he would take action against everyone who is involved without protecting anyone, Dominguez Brito said “totally”.

The attorney general was being interviewed after leaving the office of the Minister of the Presidency Gustavo Montalvo yesterday, Tuesday 6 January 2015, and he reiterated that the case involving Dican is very sensitive, very serious and unfortunate, but they had to delve as deeply as possible.

The Dican case involves the disappearance of 1,200 kilos of cocaine confiscated by law enforcement officers.
