According to Minister of Industry and Commerce Jose del Castillo Savinon, public transport drivers who refuse to reduce their fares in line with the decrease in fuel prices, could lose their government subsidy.
He warned that the Technical Office of Ground Transport (OTTT) had ordered the fare reduction and anyone who fails to implement it is violating that order.
Del Castillo Savinon said that he had been in touch with the heads of the main transport unions to discuss the situation, and up to now all was proceeding normally and he hoped that it would continue that way.
