Mexican cement manufacturer Cemex has announced it will be making investments worth more than RD$315 million this year in a new packaging line at its San Pedro de Macoris factory. The investment is aimed at increasing production capacity and meeting the estimated demand for the next five years. The company reports it has just completed a series of improvements in the cement plant to increase production by an additional 400,000 monthly bags of cement. The company says it has also invested RD$256.5 million in 50 new cement trucks, making it the largest fleet in the Caribbean.
