Getting in shape is becoming more and more popular among Santo Domingo residents. Neighborhood gyms are commonplace, and the newest is Brazilian gym franchise, SmartFit, which opened this week at the Bravo supermarket Ave. Churchill branch offering deals of RD$995 a month. SmartFit is described as the largest gym chain in Latin America with 200 branches. Rafael Monestina Corripio said that Grupo Bravo has signed an agreement with Bioritmo of Brazil for the operation. The gym, which promises quality exercise machines at an affordable price, is located at the back of the supermarket and is open from 5am to midnight, 7 days a week.
