President Danilo Medina inaugurated the new Los Rieles Polytechnic in Gurabo, Santiago yesterday, Tuesday 17 March 2015. The school reportedly cost the government RD$72 million. It has 30 classrooms and will be running the extended school day program, with breakfast and lunch provided for 910 students, announced Minister of Education Carlos Amarante Baret at the opening.
As well as classrooms, the Polytechnic has two science laboratories, an IT lab, administrative area, kitchen, dining room, as well as other teaching and learning facilities.
