President Danilo Medina was in Barahona yesterday, Tuesday 24 March 2015 for the opening of the Juan Pablo Duarte Kindergarten and the Professor Jesus Maria Segura Segura School in El Penon, in the southwestern province.
The kindergarten will take 226 children and cost RD$35,609,241 to build. The school has 13 classrooms and was built at a cost of RD$51,947,333. It has capacity for 420 students.
Education Minister Carlos Amarante Baret, Public Works Minister Gonzalo Castillo, Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ramon Peralta, Minister of Industry and Commerce Jose Manuel del Castillo, Barahona Governor Pedro Pena Rubio and the Regional Education Director, Ramon Lopez accompanied President Medina on this visit.
