The Venezuelan authorities have arrested the president of a well-known local entertainment business and a member of the military forces, both for alleged links to the recent confiscation of 450 kilos of cocaine.
Solid Show entertainment company president Juan Carlos Araujo Duran and National Guard sergeant Pablo Silva were arrested on Monday evening, 30 March 2015 in connection with a drug find in the Dominican Republic on 17 March 2015 of 450 kilos of cocaine which was being transported in a private plane.
The sergeant was arrested at a local airport as the plane was about to depart to the Dominican Republic, and when Duran was arrested the authorities confiscated four vehicles, a small shotgun and a revolver.
Four other people, including three military officers, were also arrested in connection with the case in Venezuela over a week ago, and the Dominican authorities have also made several arrests.
