Bartolo Colon at 41, soon to turn 42, won the opening game of the New York Mets against the Washington Nationals yesterday, Monday 6 April 2015. Colon pitched six strong innings, struck eight out, in the Mets 3-1victory over the Nationals in a sellout crowd of 42,295 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
During the game, he only allowed one run and three hits.
Colon is the oldest Opening Day starter in Mets history. His record is 5-1 with a 2.62 ERA over his seven Opening Day starts. Last season he won 15 games.
