Presidency spokesman Roberto Rodriguez Marchena has announced that President Danilo Medina will be addressing the nation at 9pm tomorrow, Wednesday 17 June 2015. The announcement comes shortly after the President signed the re-election bill passed in Congress with the support of the PRD and PRSC legislators. Medina’s talk will follow recent speeches by leading politicians, including former President Leonel Fernandez, PRM presidential candidate Luis Abinader, Alianza Pais presidential candidate Guillermo Moreno, and PRD presidential candidate Miguel Vargas.
“President Danilo Medina believes that this is the right time to speak to the country,” said Rodriguez Marchena, when announcing the speech. “The President is very much in tune with the feelings of the Dominican people,” he said.
