Anel Castillo won silver for the Dominican Republic in men’s karate in Toronto 2015. Competing in 80kg category, Castillo lost 2-6 to Franklin Mina of Ecuador. In a first round, he had won 11-6. The Dominican karate team earned a gold, and three silver medals in the Pan Am championship. To reach the finals, Castillo defeated Brian Irr of the United States.
