The Ministry of Education announced that the 2015-2016 school year that starts on Monday, 17 August 2015 and ends on 22 June 2016, will have 199 days of teaching and 42 weeks of classes.
The first semester goes from August to December and there will be 18 weeks of classes, the second has 24 weeks from January to June.
The Ministry said that there are different teaching hours depending on the level in pre-school, elementary, and the first cycle of Adult Education has been allotted 995 hours; secondary education 1,194 hours; accelerated secondary education 1,392 and secondary education specializing in the arts and technical education 1,592 hours.
