Miguel Pimentel Kareh, the recently replaced director of the Office of Supervisory Public Works of the Presidency (Oisoe) is under investigation for alleged ties to the collapsed Banco de Peravia, according to Yeni Berenice Reynoso, National District prosecutor.
As reported in Hoy, Jenny Alexandra Garcia Polanco, a former assistant of the president of the Banco Peravia, Jose Luis Santoro, told the prosecutor on 26 May 2015 that the former director of the Oisoe had a deal with her boss through the Union de Seguros insurance company, an affiliate of the Banco de Peravia. In a document that Hoy keeps a copy of, Garcia told the prosecutor that Pimentel Kareh received a cut of payments made by the Oisoe to the insurance company.
