The Dominican women’s national team defeated Kenya 3-0 (28-26, 26-24, 25-17) to win their first game in the FIVB World Cup being held in Japan. The next game will be against Argentina today, Monday 24 August 2015, at noon Dominican time, and then the DR will play archrival Cuba (26 August, 3:10pm) and Japan (27 August, 7:20pm). 12 teams are playing a full round robin tournament over 11 match days. The top two will qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The DR lost its opening match against Russia, 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-18)
