Attorney General and Passport Office plan for fewer fake passports

The Attorney General and the Passport offices have announced a joint initiative to reduce passport forgery by taking imposters to justice and investigating people who violate travel document rules, as reported in El Nuevo Diario.

Measures include holding regular meetings to exchange information and new technology to update the National Passport Agency (DGP) database and exchange data to facilitate investigations into fraud.

The plan comes under the responsibility of the Attorney General office to investigate and prosecute anyone found with suspicious passports, in the country or after leaving the country.
