The Downtown Center, a new three-floor shopping and entertainment mall is being built next door to a 12-floor business office tower at the intersection of Av. Romulo Betancourt and Av. Nunez de Caceres in Santo Domingo.
According to the developers, at Downtown Center the emphasis will be on entertainment.
The plan is for people to work in the tower and for the parking spaces to be used by the people coming for entertainment at night.
As reported in Diario Libre, the main investors are the same people that have operated Caribbean Cinemas in the country since 1976.
Robert Carrady announced that the mall would have the largest movie complex in the Caribbean region, with a scheduled opening date of summer 2016. The offices are due to open by the end of the same year.
