Clarification of political alliances

One of the decisions taken at the PLD Political Committee meeting on Monday evening, 6 October 2015 was the ratification of the process of alliances for the 2016 elections.

It was agreed that incumbent mayors or municipal district heads would be the electoral candidates if they could show that they were in a good position to win in their communities, but it excluded the candidacies that have been reserved as part of the alliance agreements.

The PRD will be allied at the presidential and congressional level nationwide but at the municipal level the alliance will not include the municipalities of Santo Domingo North, Santiago, San Cristobal and Moca.

The PRSC will be allied in all but 12 provinces, which include Samana, Montecristi, San Pedro de Macoris, Pedernales, La Romana, San Jose de Ocoa, El Seibo, La Altagracia, Monsenor Nouel and Santo Domingo.

The Christian Union Democratic Party headed by Luis Acosta Moreta was allied at presidential level but not for Congressional or municipal level, and the Liberal Action Party (PAL) was allied at all three levels, apart from the municipalities of Rancho Arriba, Maimon and Constanza.
