Quintuplets to get a new house

Yesterday, Tuesday 27 October 2015, the First Lady, Candida Montilla de Medina, led a ceremony marking the start of construction of a house for the five surviving babies of the sextuplets born on 8 February 2015 in La Victoria, Santo Domingo North.

Sarai Trinidad, Ashley, Aleysha, Anderson and Jefferson Figuereo Guzman, who live with their mother, Aracely Guzman Martinez and grandmother in a house in La Victoria will soon have their own home in La Salanita, built by the First Lady’s office.

Montilla de Medina said that she wanted the mother and the children to have a safe and comfortable home.

Aracely Guzman, mother of the sextuplets, one of whom died three days after birth, thanked the First Lady who has been involved with the babies since they were born and had always promised to help. As well as providing them with a house she has also given the babies all their food and milk, diapers and paid all their medical bills.

The house is being built in coordination with the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA) on a 170 square meter plot of land with 157 square meters of construction. It will have four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, a living room, washing area, outdoor seating area and garden.
