After two consecutive readings yesterday, Wednesday 28 October 2015 the Senate approved the 2016 National Budget totaling RD$663.6 billion, which was sent by the Executive Branch in September. Today, Thursday 29 October 2015 the proposal goes to the Chamber of Deputies and if approved without any modifications, the proposal will become law.
The senators approved the legislation without making any modifications, despite the fact that several recommendations have been made about the distribution of the budget items and some state entities are requesting increases to their own budgets.
