The National Social Security Council (CNSS) announced on Thursday, 29 October 2015, the approval of a resolution that increases coverage of pharmaceuticals under the Basic Health Plan from RD$3,000 to RD$8,000 a year. New pharmaceuticals have been added to the approved list. Also approved was a coverage of RD$1 million in high cost procedures for newborns, from day one of birth through the first year.
