Presidential candidate for the Revolutionary Modern Party (PRM) Luis Abinader spoke yesterday of the need for a tax pact that would reduce the taxes that have caused small and medium-sized business to fail. He made the comments when being the guest speaker at the luncheon of the Dominican Confederatin of Small and Medium-sized Construction Business (Copymecon).
During the talk, Abinader highlighted that during the governments of the PLD the public payroll has increased from 200,000 in 2004 to 700,000 at present.
He said that institutional deficiencies, lack of transparency and trafficking of influence obstacles seriously affect business development. He is proposing the passing of bills that would expedite business permits (Ley de Silencio Administrativo), modernize the investment law, another for judicial stability and another for simplifying taxes.
