On Friday, 6 November 2015 one woman was killed and 25 people were injured after two buses collided on the Cruce del Isleno-La Ceiba, Bavaro road in the east of the country.
Yubelkis Mercedes Avila, 28, died of her injuries in a Higuey hospital.
The vehicles, which were transporting hotel employees, were a 32-passenger bus and a 54-passenger bus. The Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET) is conducting an investigation into the accident.
