The First Santo Domingo Triathlon will take place this Sunday, 29 November 2015 on streets of Santo Domingo East, Sans Souci and the National District, including the Colonial City.
The event is produced by AF Sports. The 1,500-meter swim will be held off Sans Souci Beach, with the support of the Armada Club. The 40km bicycle race is along Av. Espana, crossing the floating bridge to the Av. Del Puerto, the Malecon and the Maximo Gomez, followed by a 10km run through the Colonial City, with the finish at Plaza de Espana and the Columbus Palace.
Fernando Alarza, ranked fifth by WTS, Mexican Crisanto Grajales (seventh) and Russian Dimitry Polianskiy (30th) have confirmed their participation.
There will also be shorter races in the sprint category with a 750-meter swim, a 20km bicycle route and a 5K run. The Super Sprint category consists of a 250m swim, 12km bike race, and a 2.5km run.
