The National Police have announced that a 73-year old Hungarian tourist has drowned off a beach in Las Terrenas, Samana.
He was identified as Figerio Giampiero who was staying in a hotel in the area with his wife.
Apparently they were swimming off Las Terrenas beach when he was swept out to sea and he drowned. His body has been sent to the National Forensic Science Institute in Santo Domingo.
