National Theater director Nini Caffaro has announced the suspension of activities at the National Theater as of this Sunday, 6 December 2015. The theater will undergo a major remodeling program with an estimated cost of RD$230 million, and Caffaro expects it to reopen in early March 2016. Caffaro said that all equipment and some installations would be repaired or replaced, including bathrooms, roofing, air conditioning, and the lighting and sound systems.
