The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) has confirmed the seizure of 36 packages of cocaine weighing 18.95 kilograms that were being smuggled to Spain in a freight container laden with coconuts.
The container was being shipped through the Puerto Multimodal Caucedo, where a trained dog detected the drugs, which were hidden inside the body of the container.
The DNCD reported the arrest of the intended recipient of the consignment, a resident of Sabaneta in the central province of La Vega.
