President Danilo Medina has appointed Anina Marcelina del Castillo to replace Altagracia Paulino as director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Institute, better known as ProConsumidor, which falls under the umbrella of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
Paulino has been appointed Presidential advisor on consumer rights matters. Paulino served as director of Proconsumidor from its foundation in 2009 until her term expired in October 2015.
Del Castillo, whose appointment was announced in Decree 385-15, had served as deputy minister of Industry and Commerce in charge of domestic trade.
