Evangelical pastor calls politicians “Treasury vipers”

At a recent meeting of evangelical Christians, pastor Ezequiel Molina spoke out against corruption calling political parties “dens of vipers that deplete taxpayer money.”

Speaking in the presence of President Danilo Medina, leading opposition candidate Luis Abinader and other politicians, Molina said that politicians have two options: to attack corruption or act with indifference.

He said the consequences of corruption are poverty, spread of illnesses, less social welfare and crime.

He acknowledged that corruption was a worldwide problem, and mentioned the cases of corruption at the International Football Association and at the United Nations.

He said the people have the choice: while they can elect bad politicians to lead the nation, the same people have the option of waiting patiently to vote against them.

The pastor was addressing a packed stadium at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center’s Felix Sanchez stadium in Santo Domingo on Saturday, 2 January 2016.
