National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) president Major General Julio Cesar Souffront Velazquez has announced that in 2015 the agency carried out 2,324 raids and 70,263 operations by air, land and sea, during which they confiscated 8,743 kilos of cocaine, 1,029 kilos of marijuana and 44.1 kilos of heroin, among others.
He added that in joint operations in international waters they confiscated 3,365 kilos of cocaine, 4.2 of heroin, and in the ports and airports they confiscated 2,981 kilos of cocaine and 20.7 kilos of heroin.
At the same time they also confiscated US$431,985 and RD$11,248,422 in cash.
