The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) reported the arrest of a Dutch traveler on Saturday 9 January 2016 who was trying to leave the country via the Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) with 105 capsules of pure cocaine in his stomach.
He was booked to fly to Brussels on Jetairfly flight 304. He was detained for investigation at the airport for his suspicious profile.
The National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) confirmed that the substance was cocaine in a lab test. Each capsule weighed 1.46 grams.
The unnamed Dutchman will now be processed. He expelled the capsules at the Nuestra Senora de la Altagracia public hospital in Higuey after being taken there for that purpose.
