The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported abnormally high waves along the Atlantic coast yesterday, Wednesday 13 January 2016 with levels between 7 and 9 feet near the coast and higher further out to sea.
As a result Onamet is maintaining its small craft warnings and advising small boats to remain in port because of the rough sea conditions. Warnings have also been issued for swimmers on beaches along the North Coast.
Onamet says that boat operations inside the Bay of Samana can continue normally.
