The Attorney General Office presented charges against resigning judge Francisco Arias of the National Judges Council, and suspended penal court judge Awilda Reyes Beltre yesterday, Wednesday 13 January 2016. They are accused of corruption and asset laundering in the case of the release of councilor Ericson de los Santos Solis of Pedro Brand. The next step is for the president of the Penal Chamber to appoint the judge who will open the case in the courts. Arias Valera and Reyes Beltre are in pre-trial detention at the Najayo jail.
