After a slow start, the Leones del Escogido finally got their act together to win the final four games of the round robin of the Dominican Winter Professional Baseball Championship. The 7-2 win over the Toros del Este yesterday, Monday 18 January 2016, gave the city team the right to challenge its archrival, Tigres del Licey in the playoffs. The playoffs will now be held at the Quisqueya Stadium in Santo Domingo. The Escogido vs. Tigres playoffs start tomorrow, Wednesday, 20 January 2016. This is a win five of nine games series. The winner will represent the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Series that opens in Santo Domingo on 1 February.
