The National Police arrested four men in possession of ten kilos of a white powder, presumed to be cocaine and RD$669,000 in cash on Sunday, 17 January 2016. The men, 35-year old Anastasio Gabino, who lives in Santiago, 37-year old Luis Rafael Pichardo Rosado of Las Terrenas, 30-year old Jose Starlyn Soriano Ferreira of the National District and 35-year old Estalin Alcangel Rodriguez, also from the National District, were arrested while carrying out a drug deal on the road from Tenares to Salcedo.
Gabino and Pichardo Rosado were arrested when they were travelling in a car in which drugs were found along with the cash, four mobile phones and a Glock pistol.
Soriano Ferreira and Rodriguez were travelling in a different car when they were arrested and drugs were also found in their vehicle.
