According to a poll by Colombian company Laboratorios de Investigaciones Sociales Aplicadas (LISA), if the presidential elections were held today, President Danilo Medina would obtain 45.7% of the vote and Luis Abinader 41.96%, which would mean there would have to be a second round of voting.
The poll was taken between 18 and 23 December 2015, via a digital platform that sent half a million messages to the WhatsApp mobile application. There were 283,333 replies, of which 125,678 said they would vote for Medina and 115,292 for Abinader.
