The Dominican documentary “Yo soy la salsa” on the life of Fania All Stars director Johnny Pacheco has become the first Dominican production whose rights have been purchased by Netflix for distribution in the United States and Latin America through HBO and Starz. The documentary is produced by Andres Vanderhost and directed by Manuel Villalona. Pacheco is played by Danilo Reynoso. It features testimonies from famous Latin American performers including Jose Alberto “El Canario”, Ruben Blades, Ismael Miranda, Isidro Infante, Eddie Montalvo, Marc Anthony, Oscar de Leon, Milly Quezada, Papo Lucas, Bobby Valentin, Willie Colon and Cheo Feliciano.
Other Dominican films that will be shown abroad include Codigo paz, Lotoman 003, Quien manda and Los Super.
