On Monday afternoon, 8 February 2016 the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) board approved a proposal by the rector, Ivan Grullon Fernandez to increase professors’ expenses allowance by 25%.
University Communications’ Director Cesar Amado Martinez said that the proposal was being considered by the Professors’ Union (Faprouasd) yesterday, Tuesday, 9 February.
The proposal could put an end to the professors’ strike on since 26 January, with them demanding better classrooms, reduced class sizes, correct expenses allowance and a salary increase.
