Jose Rafael Abinader, lawyer and political campaign director for Luis Abinader of the PRM has denied the existence of any debt owed to former employees of the closed Sol de Plata hotel. They said the published complaints are the result of a negative campaign recommended to President Danilo Medina by Brazilian campaign advisor Joao Santana. The lawyers for the company presented a Ministry of Labor certificate 465-16-00006 dated 22 February 2016, confirming that there is no legal labor suit pending against the company.
