Greenberg-Diario Libre: Medina 55%, Abinader 34%

Diario Libre has published the results of a Greenberg poll carried out between 12 and 18 February 2016, 11 weeks before election day, 15 May 2016, with 1,200 citizens eligible to vote polled. These results show President Danilo Medina of the ruling PLD party leading with 55% of voting intention, followed by Luis Abinader with 34%. The poll found that Abinader’s popularity has increased from 16% in March 2015.

The poll shows Medina with a comfortable lead over his closest rival, Luis Abinader. The poll shows that Guillermo Moreno would receive 2% of the vote, and Amable Aristy would receive 1%. Other candidates would receive less than 1% of the vote.

66% of those polled said their lives are better now than four years ago, mentioning improvements in education, electricity and health. 69% say they want to continue in the direction that Medina is taking the country.

As reported in Diario Libre, Medina’s most vulnerable area is his handling of administrative corruption.

The poll has a plus or minus margin of error of 3.1-3.7%.

The Greenberg poll was the one that forecast the results of the 2012 election most accurately.
