Sunrise Airways has announced that its direct flights from Port-au-Prince to Santo Domingo’s La Isabela International Airport are back in operation. The airline said that the flights had been suspended for three days. According to media reports, the national Civil Aviation Board (JAC) found that the airline had failed to renew its airline insurance.
Haiti Libre reports that there was a misunderstanding and once the airline provided proof that it was meeting Dominican civil aviation standards, the ban on the flights was revoked. Sunrise is the only carrier providing regular direct air services between Santo Domingo and Port-au-Prince.
