Two men carried out an armed robbery yesterday, Tuesday 8 March 2016 in a branch of Banco de Ahorro y Credito (Adompem) in the southern city of San Cristobal. According to the bank, the robbers stole RD$800,000 in cash. The armed men held up the staff before making a getaway on a motorcycle. The bank is located on Av. Maria Trinidad Sanchez. Investigators are studying the bank security video to identify the robbers. Police spokesman Maximo Baez Aybar expressed suspicion that the bank security guard may have been complicit.
