President Hipolito Mejia was in the province of Monsenor Nouel yesterday to inaugurate 10 public works. Interestingly, El Caribe newspaper reports that among the works being unveiled was a housing complex where the residences were still without doors and windows. The toilets had not been installed, and the streets were unpaved and without sidewalks. The inaugurated housing complex has 234 homes and was built by INVI at a cost of RD$28 million. The President similarly inaugurated the remodeling of the Pedro E Marchena Public Hospital, but several sections are incomplete, such as the laboratory. The back of the hospital is a stock area for blocks, steel rods, wood, cement and other construction materials. Another of the projects inaugurated was a multi-function sports installation, which has a roof but is otherwise unfinished and cannot yet be used.
