Miguel Tejada is new Derby King

In what Major League Baseball called ?the most historic of all Century 21 Home Run Derby contests,? three of the four active players who?ve surpassed the 500-homerun mark participated. The winner of the showdown was the DR?s Miguel Tejada, who plays for the Baltimore Orioles and who hit 15 homers in the second round alone and gave five more in the final round, both of which were record-breaking numbers. MLB reports that Tejada hit a total of 27 homers that evening, besting the numbers set by the Cardinals’ Albert Pujols last year. As a late replacement for the Yankees? Jason Giambi, Tejada was not even supposed to be a contender.
