The website ?Clave Digital? carries the news that last week GNA, which touts itself as a specialist in immigration orientation, held a seminar at a Santo Domingo hotel and collected nearly RD$500,000 from the 480 individuals who showed up to see if they could immigrate to Canada. Most of these people were from the professional middle and lower-middle classes. The company ran an aggressive publicity campaign over the Internet, explaining why people appear at their offices from 8am until 5pm, paying US$25 per visit per person, or US$35 per couple.
