PRM candidate for mayor for Santo Domingo David Collado says if he wins the 15 May 2016 election he will prioritize rescuing the Malecon oceanfront boulevard and the public cemeteries as well as installing underground electricity cables in the Colonial City. While his rival, Roberto Salcedo who is seeking his fourth term as mayor, has frequently announced projects for the Malecon, they lie dormant due to lack of funds. Collado added that he would be inviting all sectors to discussions aimed at tackling the city’s chronic traffic chaos. Collado received the support of PRSC deputy Victor (Ito) Bisono who called for drastic improvements in city safety.
