The National Theater in Santo Domingo will reopen to the general public with the hosting of the Soberano Awards on Tuesday, 31 May 2016. The theater has been undergoing major renovation works for some months now. The Show Business Writers Association and the Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana, the Presidente beer brewery, made the announcement yesterday, Wednesday 13 April 2016. A total of 213 personalities have been nominated in 46 categories. The event is the Dominican equivalent of the Oscars night. Cheddy Garcia and Irving Alberti will be the hosts of this year’s show, which will be produced by Edilenia Tactuk.
